On Tuesday, February 21st, an LGISD staff member was placed on leave after the School received information pertaining to an incident that occurred two years ago in another school district. In accordance with personnel procedures, the employee was placed on administrative leave and will not be involved in any school activities pending the District's investigation into the matter. State and federal law prohibit the District from disclosing personally identifiable information as well as other confidential information. Nevertheless, LGISD can state, without equivocation, that the safety of our students and staff will always be our number one priority. Once our investigation into this matter is completed, the District's administration will examine the findings and determine what action, if any, is appropriate under LGISD policies and state and federal laws.
