Zoch's Laundry and Washateria an iconic business in Giddings for several decades suffered a devastating loss when its building went up in flames. According to Giddings Fire Chief Charlie Brown, the alarm was sounded at 10:30pm when a Giddings Police Officer noticed smoke and flames coming out of the Windows. Giddings, South Lee County, and Lincoln Volunteer firemen rushed to the scene to fight the blaze. Upon the arrival of Chief Brown he described the fire as being "fully involved."
