JOEL WHEELER AGE 78 OF LEANDER

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings. Burial, with military honors provided by the Giddings American Legion York Post 276, will immediately follow in the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Texas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Doug is survived by his wife , Cynthia (Baylor) Wheeler of Leander; his three daughters, Courtenay Hinckley & her husband, Stuart of Leander, Tara Bennight & her husband, Russell of Round Rock, and Virginia Wheeler of Ohio; six grandchildren; two sisters, Rhoda Kelly & her husband, Russell of Cleveland and Gwen Morse of Arkansas; one brother, John Cronk of Giddings; brother-in-law, Dennis Baylor Sr. & his wife, Sharon of Giddings, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
