Narcotics Investigation at the Carter Motel

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that yesterday, in the process of an ongoing narcotics investigation in the LaGrange Area, the Fayette County Narcotics Unit received information on possible narcotics sales at a room in the Carter Motel in LaGrange. The room was placed under surveillance and probable cause was found for a search warrant to be executed. Due to it being unknown if the individual involved was possibly armed or present inside the room the Austin County Regional SRT team was used to execute the search warrant.
The apartment was found to be unoccupied, approximately 4.8oz of methamphetamine, 6.8oz of ecstasy pills and over1 pound of Marijuana were located inside the residence along with other narcotics sales paraphernalia and a loaded 9mm handgun.
The investigation remains ongoing and further charges will be filed at a later time.
