Traffic Stop in LaGrange
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that recently, Deputy Seth Nagel observed a vehicle leaving a gas station in the 1800 block of West Travis Street in LaGrange. The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle that had been reportedly selling narcotics at the gas station per a Fayette County Narcotics investigator. The vehicle was displaying an expired registration tag. Deputy Nagel conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for this infraction.When Deputy Nagel contacted the driver, he observed a smoked marijuana blunt in plain view. The Driver, who was identified as Damon Stewart of LaGrange, admitted to the blunt containing marijuana.
A probable cause search was conducted and the following was located in the vehicle:
-3.9 ounces of Marijuana
-33 grams of Methamphetamine
-17 grams of Ecstasy
-1 THC Pen
Stewart was arrested for the narcotics and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center where he was jailed and charged with multiple drug offences.
