Traffic Stop leads to Multiple Arrests

On Saturday. March 18th, at approximately 8pm, Schulenburg Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Lyons Ave, for a Traffic Offense. As officers attempted to speak with the driver, a male passenger exited the vehicle and refused to listen to multiple verbal commands given by Officers. Due to his multiple refusals to listen and interfering with officers, Johnathan Lee (41), of Bonham was advised he was under arrest for Public Intoxication and Interference with Public Duties. After being informed he was under arrest, Johnathan decided he would attempt to get back into the vehicle and resisted Officers. Officers gained control of Johnathan and he was taken into custody. Once Johnathan was in custody, Officers continued speaking with the driver who displayed multiple signs of intoxication. Standard Field Sobriety Tests were administer and multiple clues were observed confirming to Officers the female driver was intoxicated. A check of her criminal history showed her to have multiple prior convictions for Driving While Intoxicated. Laci Chaney (40) of Victoria, was arrested for Driving while Intoxicated 3rd or More. Both Laci and Johnathan were transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
