Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that recently near Engle, Deputy Austin Moore observed a white 2010 GMC SUV with a flat tire parked in the median area on I-10 at the 669 MM on the E/B side with hazards lights on. Deputy Moore stopped and upon approaching the driver to conduct a welfare check detected strong odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. Moore observed in plain view marijuana shake on the lap of the passenger who admitted he had more. The passenger was asked to step out of the vehicle and was detained when the driver threw something out of the driver's window. Moore immediately gave commands to the driver who was also detained. Numerous white powder flakes were observed all over the driver's seat, floor board, and console. Moore observed more white powder on the shoulder and outside lane of traffic which the driver admitted he threw cocaine out of the vehicle. 2 THC concentrate cartridges and a bag of marijuana were located in the vehicle. The Subjects were identified as 18 yr old David Guerra the driver, and Passenger 20 yr old Andy Aguilar of San Antonio, who where arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Tampering/Fabricating physical evidence.
