Sheriff Keith Korenek Reports that on January 24th at approximately 1am, Deputy Austin Moore initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near Flatonia. The Vehicle Failed to yield to Deputy Moore resulting in a vehicle pursuit. The vehicle continued to evade Deputy Moore until the driver of the vehicle intentionally wrecked the vehicle into the woodline at the US 90 and IH-10 intersection near Schulenburg. Several Suspected illegal immigrants bailed from the vehicle into the woods heading west. They are believed to be unarmed and not a threat to the public. If you see a suspicious person in the area contact the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
