Stolen Vehicle Recovered After Pursuit

Fayette Co. Sheriff Keith Korenek reports this past Saturday, January 14th, at approximately 11:45pm, Deputy Holly Smith initiated a traffic stop on a two door sedan traveling EB on IH10 near Engle for a Traffic Violation. When Smith attempted contact with the occupants of the vehicle it took off evading Smith.
Sgt. McFadden with Schulenburg PD and TX DPS set up just east of Schulenburg on IH-10 and were able to locate the vehicle.
The pursuit continued into Colorado County where occupants of the vehicle bailed out and could not be located.
Officers along with assistance of Colorado County utilizing their drones were unable to locate the two occupants of the vehicle.
It was later learnt through further investigation the vehicle was stolen out of San Antonio.
