Presidential Pardon affects Individuals in the Area
Pardons by US President Donald Trump has some effects to people in this area. According to the Giddings Times and News, Billy Joe Gober of Smithville has been pardoned. According to the article, Billy Joe Gober was on the South Side of the Nations Capital on January 6th, 2021. Gober allegedly walked up a set of stairs and charged and struck a DC Police Officer. The Article states that Gober charged another officer, Grabbed a Baton with the Officer and wrapped his arms around the Officer.Another man identified as being pardoned is Jeffery Shane Witcher of Bastrop. Like Gober, Witcher was arrested. According to the Article in the Giddings Times News, Jeffery Shane Witcher, is one of the individuals who entered the Capital's Rotunda. On a National Video, Witcher can be seen and heard saying...."We did it. It's Our House." Jeffery Shane Witcher and Billy Joe Gober are now free and living back in Society.
