Fayette Co. Narcotics Unit makes multiple arrests over the Week
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics unit has been busy.On Wednesday, January 22, the narcotics unit conducted a traffic stop on N. Washington in La Grange the driver of the vehicle who had a history of forgery was found to be in possession of printers and other check forging equipment case remains under investigation.
Another traffic stop that same day in the area of E. Guadalupe in La Grange resulted in the driver, Andy Bennett, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
On Thursday, January 23, the narcotics unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of Guadalupe and N. Monroe in La Grange on a vehicle, after further investigation a significant amount of narcotics was located in the vehicle and on the occupants. Subjects Tanika Benford and Nathan Luhrs were arrested on charges of Possession of controlled substance and tampering with evidence. Charges will be sought on a third occupant.
Investigators developed information on the residence the vehicle had left from immediately prior to the traffic stop and made scene at that location where they located and arrested a wanted subject, Eddie Williams, on warrants out of Waller and Colorado Counties for Possession of a controlled substance and Credit Card abuse.
On Friday, January 24, local DPS troopers attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Hwy 71 in West Point which attempted to evade. The narcotics unit proceeded to the most likely route for the suspect vehicle to take and were able to block them off stopping the vehicle and detaining the driver.
