Assault Arrest in Schulenburg

This past Thursday night at approximately 8:00pm Officers with the Schulenburg Police Department were dispatched to Pilot convivence store in reference to an assault. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the victim who advised a male subject ran up to him, assaulted him and attempted to stab him with a knife. Officers also made contact with a witness on scene.
The suspect was located and quickly detained. A knife was located in his possession along with Methamphetamine.
Juan Ortiz Jr (51), of Arizona, was arrested for Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon and Possession of Controlled Substance then transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in LaGrange.
