Sheriff Keith Korenek reports Wednesday afternoon around 12:29 pm the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a Tractor and Hay Baler on fire on Green Meadow Ln. in the Cistern area. The Muldoon Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene along with Deputy James Ulbig. Mutual Aid Assistance was requested from the Flatonia Fire Department who also responded. Due to the extreme heat Fayette County Unit Medic 3 also responded to the scene for heat related exposures. Upon arrival it was reported a John Deere 4240 Cab Tractor and John Deere 535 Baler were fully engulfed and a large area of grass also burnt. The fire was extinguished and there were no other property damage reported. The fire is believed to have started from a bearing on the Baler.
