City of Bastrop, SpaceX, Corix Sign Historic Deal

Bastrop City Manager Sylvia Carrillo has announced a joint agreement between the City, SpaceX, and Corix that will enable the treatment of wastewater for properties along FM 1209 and 969 at the City of Bastrop's brand new wastewater treatment facility. Corix will be handling the transfer of the wastewater to the City's plant. In March of 2023, Space X announced plans to treat their own wastewater through applying for a permit with the Texas Commission on the Environmental Quality. The original SpaceX permit application to the TCEQ was to discharge 142,000 gallons per day. After the first public meeting, all three parties came together to brainstorm a potential solution that would solve not only the wastewater solution for SpaceX, but also the surrounding areas.
