Missing Child Found in Columbus

Recently, on March 1 at about 12:40 pm, the Columbus Police Department was advised that a 12 year old female, who an amber alert had been issued for, was possibly in the City Limits of Columbus Texas. Columbus Police attempted to detain Sirterryon Preston , 27 of Houston Texas in reference to having possession of the missing juvenile. Preston attempted to flee police custody, but was captured and arrested. Preston was charged with Evading and taken to the Colorado County Detention Facility. Further charges are pending further investigation by the FBI.
The missing juvenile’s identity was confirmed and she was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital for evaluation. Columbus Police Department was assisted by the following agencies in apprehending Preston and returning the missing child: FBI, Texas DPS, Colorado County Sheriff’s Office, Houston PD, Texas Parks & Wildlife.
