Two Arrested on Felony Charges in One Night
On Saturday, May 20th, at approximately 10:30pm, Deputy Austin Moore was on Patrol on SH 159 in the LaGrange Area. Moore initiated a pedestrian stop on a male subject walking towards LaGrange. Moore believed the subject was under the influence of an unknown substance. Moore arrested Busby on Fayette County Felony Warrant Motion to Adjudicate Possession of a Controlled Substance.Later that night, at approximately 1:10am, Deputy Moore initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the LaGrange Area. After further investigation Moore arrested the driver, Samuel Segura, 20, of Giddings, for possession of methamphetamine. Moore transported Segura to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center. Moore was suspicious Segura was concealing further narcotics on his person and Moore requested a complete search of Segura once inside of the facility. Jail staff notified Deputies that Segura was uncooperative and refused to participate in the search. Deputy Moore and Schulenburg Officer B. Powe arrived at the facility to assist. Segura resisted the search and fought with all law enforcement officers. A larger amount of methamphetamine and a bag of Marijuana was located that was concealed under his clothing.
