Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that a Houston Man is in jail for numerous offenses after a road rage incident on Interstate 10 on Sunday. Deputy Herman Olvera responded to an incident involving a new model Ford Edge Traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 that was reportedly shooting a handgun out the window. Deputy Olvera located the vehicle an initiated a traffic stop near Schulenburg. The Occupants, two males and a woman traveling with a small child, at first denied any involvement in any shooting or weapons being in the vehicle. Upon further investigation Deputy Olvera located a 9mm handgun in the backseat of the vehicle. Further investigation revealed the discovery of Marijuana. When confronted with the findings, the driver admitted to firing the handgun out the window after being cut off by a couple of motorists. The driver claimed the bag in which the handgun and marijuana was discovered. Interesting enough, the driver was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being a convicted felon. Arrested and charged with Felon in Possession of Firearm, deadly conduct, endangering a child, and possession of Marijuana was 35 year old Charlie Ray Sheppard Jr of Houston. Sheppard was booked to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
