Scam Calls in Fayette County

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office has been receiving numerous calls regarding scams.
Several local banks are reporting that members are receiving scam phone calls, where the banks are allegedly calling and requesting that they wire transfer money to a new account because they have been hacked.
They have also received calls regarding the "Fayette County Civil Writs Division" with a deputy calling to say that you missed a court date and need to pay a fine over the phone. They do not have a civil writs division and the Sheriff's Office will never collect money over the phone.
