Lavaca County Deputy Detains man identified in Federal Terrorist Watchlist

A Lavaca County Sheriff's Deputy detained a man during a multi-agency law enforcement operation after federal record checks identified him as an alleged MS-13 Gang Member listed in the Terrorist Screening Dataset, according to the Lavaca County Sheriff's Office. The encounter began when the deputy stopped a vehicle for a reported traffic violation. During the investigation, the deputy developed reason to believe the driver, Alexander Flores-Rivera and passenger, Edwin Antonio Guevara-Gaitan were unlawfully in the United States. Both Men were released to Federal Law Enforcement.
