Traffic Stop leads to Chase

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Tuesday morning around 9:21am Deputy Joe Gonzales conducted a traffic stop on St.Hwy 71 W/B near the Bastrop County Line for a Traffic Violation. After Contact with the driver was made two individuals ran from the vehicle into pasture and brush. After assistance was requested several Fayette County Deputies arrived and Bastrop County Deputies assisted. Drones were deployed in the area and the second subject was detained. After a lengthy search, the search was cancelled and a warrant will be issued for the third subject.
Deputies continued close patrol in the area and a reverse 911 call was issued with the subject's description.
