Arson Arrest in Smithville

On Monday at approximately 7:45pm Smithville Police Department officers responded to a report of a fire in the alley at the 200 block of Bishop. Upon arrival a witness described the offender and after a search of the area a suspect was located and probable cause existed to arrest a 27 year old female for the offense of arson. Pursuant to questioning the arrested person it was concluded that she was responsible for several fires which had intentionally been started. Angelina Whitaker was transported to the Bastrop County Jail and charged with Arson.
