Structure Fire on top of the Bluff

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Monday afternoon around 4:26pm the Fayette County Sheriff's office received a 911 call reporting a Structure Fire in the 2000 block of US Hwy 77 South near County Club Drive. The La Grange Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene along with Deputies Wesley Arrison and Joe Gonzales. Fayette County EMS Medic 2 and EMS 3 also responded and stood by at the scene. Upon arrival it was reported smoke coming from a metal building. The La Grange Fire Department arrived and requested mutual aid assistance from the Schulenburg Fire Department who responded to the scene. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished. The cause of the fire is believed to have started from an exhaust fan. There were no reported injuries.
