Bomb Threat at Lexington ISD

Yesterday just after 3:00 PM, the Lexington Police Department received an anonymous call from someone claiming to be inside Lexington Middle School. The person said he was in a school restroom with a loaded weapon and multiple pipe bombs, making threats against the school with these weapons.
Multiple law enforcement agencies immediately mobilized and responded within a few minutes. Both the middle and high schools were locked down while all restrooms and other possible locations were checked. A SWAT team went room to room, dismissing high school and middle school students since regular dismissal time had passed.
This process was slow and deliberate, and at approximately 4:40 PM, law enforcement decided to relocate students to the Lexington park building in case any explosive or incendiary device was discovered.
Multiple communications were sent out during the incident to keep parents informed in real time as the situation developed.
Nothing threatening was found and, at this time, appears to have been a deliberate hoax. This incident is under investigation to identify the caller.
