Texas Independence Relay

The Weimar Police Department reminds the public the Texas Independence Relay taking place this weekend. Runners will participate in a 200 mile relay, roughly following the historic route of Sam Houston and the Texian Army from 1836. The race begins in Gonzales and finishes in downtown Houston. This marks the 19th year of this celebratory run across our great state.
In Weimar, the traffic signal at Main Street and N. Mechanic will be set to flash red in all directions, creating a 4-way stop, on Saturday, March 28th from 3pm-10pm.
