Shooting in Bastrop
Earlier yesterday afternoon, City of Bastrop Police department officers, along with multiple surrounding law enforcement agencies, responded to a report of an active shooter in the parking lot of Home Depot. Preliminary information indicates that the suspect, identified as local resident 25 year old Kobe Lee Mosser, drove into the parking lot and began firing an AR-15 Style rifle indiscriminately. At one point, the suspect exited his vehicle and continued firing. The first officer to arrive on scene was Bastrop Police Officer James Hill. Hill immediately engaged the suspect and successfully took him into custody without further incident.This remains an active criminal investigation.
