Fire in Fayetteville

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Monday night around 8:!8pm the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a large fire in some trees on St.Hwy 159 near Skalitsky Rd. The Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene along with Deputy Noah Geer. The fire was located on property and it was reported upon arrival a large metal barn was fully engulfed along with a pasture fire. Mutual Aid was requested from the Round Top- Warrenton Fire Department and the Ellinger Fire Department who responded to the scene. Fayette County Sgt. Ron Naumann, Sgt Duane Meagher, and Deputy Wesly Arrison along with Fayette County EMS Unit 2 and EMS Supervisor 3 who also assisted at the scene. The fire was contained and extinguished after several hours. Several Animals were lost from the fire and others put in adjoining pastures. The State Fire Marshall's Office was contacted and the cause of the fire is pending.
