Narcotics Arrest in Colorado County
Recently, an Investigator with the Colorado County Narcotics Division along with members of the Westside Narcotics Task Force initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation near the intersection of Walnut Street and Veterans Drive in Columbus, TX.Investigators, after being denied consent to search, contacted Austin County K9 Deputy O. Buitron for an free air sniff of the vehicle. Deputy Buitron arrived on scene and deployed his narcotic detection K9 "Knox". Deputy Buitron advised Knox gave a positive alert for the presence of narcotics odor emitting from the vehicle.
A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and a pill bottle containing a crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamine and a clear glass pipe with burnt residue, was located. The driver of the vehicle, identified as William Brozowski, age 63, of Columbus, TX, was arrested and charged with Possession of Controlled Substance
