Drug arrest near Ellinger

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Wednesday morning around 02:31 am Deputy Josh Jones conducted a traffic stop on a 2011 Subaru for a traffic violation on St Hwy 71 W/B near Ellinger.
After contact was made with the driver a strong odor of Marijuana was coming from the vehicle. A consent to search the vehicle was given and both occupants got out of the vehicle.
Deputy Jason Fowler arrived and assisted Jones at the scene. Jones located a Marijuana Bong, paraphernalia, Marijuana, and THC gummies.
Subjects Christopher McComas 26 yr. old of California, and Gabrielle Mirelez 31 yr. old of San Marcos were arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center as McComas was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Mirelez was charged with Possession of Marijuana.
