Suspect arrested for shooting man

Recently, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence in the Clear Lake Pines Subdivision near Winchester, Texas, after a homeowner reported a severely injured male on her front porch.
Deputies Wesly Arrison and Joe Gonzales arrived and located a male victim, who was covered in blood and suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim is not being identified at this time.
An investigation was conducted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and The Texas Rangers.
Evidence and investigative leads identified Norman Robert Hicks (20) as the suspect of the shooting. Investigators determined that Hicks also resided within the Clear Lake Pines Subdivision.
Investigators from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Austin County Special Response Team, executed a search warrant at a residence in the Clear Lake Pines Subdivision. The suspect was not located at his residence.
The Austin County Special Response Team, along with Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Investigators then responded to a location in Winchester, where the suspect was found and taken into custody.
Hicks is being charged with the following:
• Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
• Aggravated Robbery
• Tampering with Physical Evidence
