Drug Arrest in Colorado County
Recently, Deputy Jessie Lopez of the Colorado County Sheriff's Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of Hwy 90A in Colorado County for a traffic violation. During the stop, Deputy Lopez developed probable cause and searched the vehicle.During the probable cause search, over 13 ounces of marijuana, a digital scale, Ecstasy (MDMA), THC vapes, dangerous drugs, a loaded firearm as well as a Glock switch were located inside the vehicle.
After further investigation, 22 year-old Gage Coronado out of Columbus was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana (State Jail Felony), Unlawful Carrying a Weapon (Class A Misdemeanor), Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG2 (1st Degree Felony) Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG1 (State Jail Felony), and Prohibited Weapon (3rd Degree Felony). Coronado was transported to the Colorado County Detention Center where he was released to jail staff without incident.
