The possibility still exists that an organic compost dump may be located in neighboring Lee County. Some 2,000 protest letters have been sent Texas Commission on Environmental Quality...Voicing opposition to the proposed facility. The compost pile would be owned by an Austin Company, known as 'Break It Down'. State representative Stan Kitsman and State Senator Lois Kolkorst have both reported that they are against the facility, which would be located near the center of Lee County, Between Giddings and Lexington.
