Arrest in Halletsville

This past Sunday in Halletsville an officer observed a wanted subject in a vehicle in the 1500 Blk of N Texana St. A traffic stop was initiated and the vehicle fled southbound on N Texana St evading the officer.
The vehicle came to a stop in or about the 700 Blk of N Texana St. The driver placed the vehicle in reverse striking the patrol vehicle before fleeing from the scene. An off duty officer kept eyes on the suspect vehicle and followed it to a residence located in the 400 Blk of E Fifth St.
With the assistance of multiple agencies, the subject was taken into custody without incident. The subject was transported to the Lavaca County Jail and booked in on his outstanding warrants along with evading arrest/detention with vehicle and assault on a peace officer.
