Structure Fire on January 8
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Wednesday morning around 09:45 am the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a skid steer on fire on Roznov Rd. near St. Hwy 159. The Fayetteville Volunteer Fie Department was notified and responded to the scene along with Deputies Wesley Arrison and Jared Michalec. Upon arrival it was reported the Skidsteer was fully engulfed. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished. The cause of the fire originated in the engine area.Sheriff Keith Korenek and Emergency Management Coordinator, Angela Hahn, also reports that afternoon around 03:47 pm the Sheriff’s Office received another 911 call reporting a structure fire on Otto Lane in Clear Lake Pines subdivision off FM 153. The Winchester Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene along with Deputies Wesley Arrison, Jared Michalec and Sgt. Charles Jobb. Upon arrival it was reported the residence was fully engulfed. Mutual Aid was requested from the LaGrange Fire Department and South Lee County Fire Department. Also assisting at the scene was Fayette County EMS Medic unit Medic 6 and DPS Troopers Louis Gabler and Mike Martinez. EMC Angela Hahn also offered Red Cross assistance to the owner of the residence. The fire was contained and extinguished with no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is believed to have started in the chimney. The residence was a total loss.
