Vehicle Fire in Ledbetter

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Tuesday evening around 08:14 pm the Fayette County Sheriff’s office received a 911 call reporting a vehicle fire on FM 2145 near Goehring Rd.
The Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene with Deputies Wesly Arrison and Jason Fowler.
Upon arrival a 2011 GMC Acadia was under a carport next to a residence on fire. The vehicle was pulled away from the residence and carport.
The Ledbetter fire Department arrived and the fire was quickly extinguished. The owner of the vehicle suffered burns to his legs trying to extinguish the fire.
EMS Unit Medic 1, and EMS 3 Supervisor were notified and responded to the scene. The owner of the vehicle was transported by Medic 1 to Dell Seton Hospital in Austin.
The cause of the fire started from a barbeque pit which was knocked over and ignited combustible materials while working on the vehicle.
