Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Tuesday evening around 7:33pm the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a Structure Fire on FM 153 near Pilchick Loop. The Winchester Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene. Upon Arrival it was reported a trailer and garage were fully involved with a grass fire spreading toward FM 153 due to the north winds. Deputies Chase Cedar, Christopher Stansberry, Sgt. Ryan Meagher and Fayette County EMS Medic Unit 1 and EMS 3 Supervisor also responded to the scene. Smithville Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene for assistance. The fire was extinguished and brought under control with no reported injuries. Emergency Management Coordinator Angela Hahn and Chief Deputy Randy Noviskie made contact with the Red Cross to provide assistance for the family who suffered a total loss.
